Draft 2023 Public Spaces Protection Order - Consultation Copy
Cheltenham Borough Council is consulting on a proposal to renew and extend the existing Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) Cheltenham 2020 in relation to the prohibition of alcohol consumption and obligations on persons with dogs.

Although the data above suggests the recorded issues in public spaces are relatively few, a large proportion of these issues are primarily reported to the police in the first instance.
The existence of the order being in place controls and justifies any potential escalation of behaviours, and encourages and requires proactive patrols and partnership working approach to enforce the order effectively.
